Master Dogen and the Shobogenzo

Master Dogen was the founder of the Soto Zen school, who, unable to find authentic Buddhism in his native Japan, traveled to China in search of it. On finding it he returned to Japan and eventually set up his own temple. His main surviving teaching is the Shobogenzo or ‘True Dharma-eye Treasury’, a collection of his talks.
